ODO meter checks !!

Concerning the odometer reading on the clock, JEVIC's odometer checking will
become more stricter as from the 1st August, 2009 and the following criteria
applies. According to the announcement from JEVIC (Japan export vehicle
inspection center Co, Ltd. ), we have been advised that they will as from the
1st August 2009, make more strict checking of the odometer reading on the meter
dashboard, so any attempts of odometer tampering can be eliminated. This news
may affect to some of the used vehicle exporters here in Japan, but we Autorec
Enterprise Ltd. welcomes their decision and shall support their acts.
  • In the case that the present/current odometer reading shows lower than that
of last record of Mileage, printed on the export certificate, the JEVIC refuses
its Pre-export road worthiness inspection because of doubts that the meter
reading must be tampered with. Remember; JEVIC is the inspecting
agency & company who started odometer checking to protect the customers who
    actually receive the vehicles.
  • In the event that the odometer dash was replaced due to defects and
breakdown of electrical failure etc, JEVIC only performs their Pre-export
inspection if the authorized franchise car dealer certifies its authentic
genuine mileage. So, the dealer's certificate of the authentic mileage is
    required to JEVIC for confirmation.
It is very encouraging news and it
is a big progress that the JEVIC has decided to put such strict rules in that
way, so as to protect the customers of Kenya against the false mileage of
vehicle supplied from the dishonest exporters/suppliers. As you remember, we
have raised this issue since sometime ago, and have been informing you of "How
to check the original mileage" on our website, so please kindly review.

Make sure that your Vehicle has done the proper Mileage!! Is
